How?
There is no set formula for how to do biblical integration, but we here at logosmath.com use the following standards as we craft our lessons to demonstrate a biblical worldview.
The Five Standards of Biblical Integration
-
The student needs to be challenged to think about God, not just to be given information about God. Thinking about God (2 Corinthians 3:18) is what transforms us into His image.
-
The student needs to be given "correct" thoughts about God. This means that we strive to never give our own personal views of God or our opinions about God, but only what the scripture itself says about God.
-
The student needs Biblical integration to be effective and meaningful prior to their learning, during their learning, and after their learning. This means that as we craft our lessons, we will purposely try to balance where our biblical perspectives and aids occur in the lesson. [Don't try to bring in the Bible only at the end or only at the beginning of a lesson.]
-
Our integration of scripture always complements and sets the stage for our student's learning. It does not replace mathematical instruction for biblical instruction. It is not Bible class, it is Math class.
-
We as teachers have prayed over our students, and our lessons.
